Last Day of Work

Yesterday was the last day of work at my old job. I accepted a new position within the same library system which is a step up from where I was. Not quite where I want to be, but it’s a definite step in the right direction. Last night I went out to dinner at Steak ‘n’ Shake with some of the shelvers and one of the circulation people. While there, one of my friends gave me a book called Unshelved, which is a book of library comic strips. I started to look through some of them and they were funny. Not to mention a lot of the people I work with signed the book with little notes. I loved reading what they all had to say. I’ll never forget them; I’ve worked with a lot of them for a long time. I hope the people I work with at the new library will be just as nice.

I’m excited for this new venture. I’ve been stagnant in the position that I’ve been in for so long that it’ll be nice to shake things up a bit. I might get tired of it and there might be some things that I won’t like, but at least it’ll be something new to figure out and work through. For every negative in life, there’s always a silver lining.
