People Won’t Let Go

When you’re single, people keep asking you when you’re going to get a boyfriend.

When you’re in a relationship, people ask you when you’re getting married.

When you’re married, people ask you when you’re going to have kids.

When you’re in college, people ask you what you’re major is. When you tell them, they either tell you about a story of someone else who has a similar degree or tell you why you shouldn’t major in whatever it is you major in. Be prepared to expect similar things about your expected graduation date, etc.

When you’ve graduated college, people ask you what you’re doing or if you’ve found a job yet.

When you’re creative in any sort of way people tell you why you shouldn’t.

In short, people, don’t let go. They want to keep pushing you for answers and then bring you down when they hear it. Moral of the story? Don’t let them tell you how to live your life. It’s yours to live, not theirs.
